Contract Administrator at £50000

Our client, an International Property Adviser, currently requires a Contract Administrator / Project Manager to work within the Environment business unit of their Infrastructure divison.
The project is infrastructure based and is in the design phase with construction planned to start in January 2009 and a programmed duration of 2.5 years with completion in the summer of 2011. The construction cost of the project is circa £21m excluding risk allowance and will use a range of framework suppliers. The scheme scope includes:- pre-cast concrete stepped revetment, raising flood wall, new wave return wall, widened/improved promenade, access ramps/steps, timber groynes to encourage natural sand accretion, range of landscaping enhancements. There is anticipated significant integration with requirements of local community stakeholders.
The role will be that of contract administrator for the project with the client. As project manager / contract administrator all contractual communication to the contractor from the client project manager shall be through you. All contractual communication to the contractor shall be suitable coded and sequentially numbered so that each communication is uniquely identifiable at any given time
As contract administrator you will review contractors’ programme and forecasts to verify their appropriateness or advise why not; chair weekly meetings; issue contract certificates; ensure the contractor provides the necessary information for the H&S Files; and agree the final account.
You will also maintain the Project Value Register and the Project Risk Registers and monitor and advise the client project manager of project and contract risks.
Currently working as a contract administrator you will be based at their London or Surrey office but must be flexible to travel around the South, including the South Coast.
The position paying circa £50000 plus package.
Experience of NEC contract is essential.
